How it works: At the beginning, the rod is pushed from the machine pit through the existing pipe. At the other end, the bursting bodies and the new pipe are attached. During hydraulic retraction, the bursting bodies cut open the existing line, clearing the way for the new line, which is pulled in in the same operation.
